The Ultimate Checklist For A Virtual Studio

The Ultimate Checklist For A Virtual Studio

A virtual studio set is perfect for executing a virtual event. With many event venues restricting the number of guests attending the event, it is best to bring your event marketing campaign digital and allow your guests to attend at the comfort of their own home.

One good thing about a virtual studio is that the producer has the options to custom build their studio set theme or choose from a selection of digital sets that is pre-built. It is also possible to change the virtual studio set background based on the show’s agenda as and when required during the show.

Based on our own virtual studio set-up and experience with digital events, we have come out with 5 important checklists for you to ensure that your virtual studio is up to standard.

1. High-Speed Internet

This is perhaps the most important factor for any kind of event venue even more so for a studio to hold virtual events. Having a reliable internet connection is crucial when it comes to live streaming or running an online webinar. What we always do is to connect our hardware to the internet router directly via an ethernet cable which makes the connection much more reliable compared to a WiFi connection. It pays to be safe especially if you are uploading a live stream session to Facebook / YouTube.

2. Green Screen Background

Green screen background allows you to control and manipulate it in real-time using video production software. This means that the virtual set can be programmed to change the background setting using digital graphics accordingly to match the show’s requirement as and when needed. You can use it to display images, logos, animations or videos to enhance the entire event experience for your guests.

3. Multi-Camera Broadcast System

Having a studio broadcast camera is great, having multiple cameras to capture different angles is even better! Be it filming, product shoot, commercial, virtual event, webinar or video recording, you will need a studio camera and a professional videographer to get the work done. It might be best to get the cameras which are compatible with your live stream video system to ensure smooth delivery of projects.

4. Visual Display

It can be really awkward to do a presentation or have a conversation with participants that you are unable to see. Most speakers would also prefer to be able to see themselves on-screen during the live streaming session so they are able to improve on their body gestures according to the camera angles. Having TVs or monitors can be really useful to ensure a seamless event production process for both the speaker and the studio crew.

5. Professional Technical Support

Having proper technicians and operators on site is arguably the most important factor for any studio projects. These are the guys that will be handling the filming, lightings, audio, set design, event production and video production works etc. We have dedicated teams in APEX to handle both productions and media aspects of any virtual projects which in turn enable our workflow process to be effective and efficient.
